Abstract
The effect of constant and modulated electrical charges applied throug h the culture support on endothelial cell (EC) morphology was investig ated. Endothelial cells tolerated electrical charges for 48 hours, in a serum-free medium. The EC had normal morphology, except at high stat ionary charges, for which nucleus and cell size increased. The observe d cell divisions and cellular secretions indicated that the cells rapi dly adapted to the imposed stresses. (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Limited .
