Abstract
The authors calculated values for the ratios of the double-electron to main-line strengths with their corresponding excitation energies for the LN4,5 edges of elements found in the sixth row of the Periodic Tab le. In addition, the approximate analytical forms for the relative int ensities in terms of monopole matrix elements are also given. A compre hensive view of double-electron processes which affect extended x-ray- absorption fine structure analysis of elements in the sixth row is obt ained.
