Abstract
We have cooled a high-purity specimen of copper to a lattice temperatu re of 7+/-1 muK in a field of 6.8 mT. We have followed the time evolut ion of the lattice temperature as the specimen subsequently warms in o rder to investigate to lower temperatures the apparent anomaly in the spin-lattice relaxation time recently observed in this metal. We find the behavior of the lattice temperature to be entirely consistent with the conventional Korringa relation.
