Abstract
Intramolecular carbolithiation of vinyl sulfides to generate configura tionally stable alpha-durylthioalkyllithium compounds at -105 degrees C in THF showed carbolithiation to be nonstereospecific regarding the newly formed lithium bearing stereocentre.
