Abstract
Benzylation of acetyl substituted benzenes is an efficient route to de ndrimeric polyketones. A benzyl bromide possessing a masked carbonyl g roup is the key reagent for the dendrimeric growth. x-Stacking in the crystals of the first generation from 1,4-diacetylbenzene is observed.
