In the presented paper the Young's modulus for samples with periodical
ly distributed spheroidal pores is calculated. The dependence of Young
's modulus on the total porosity, size, orientation, and shape anisotr
opy of pores is investigated. It is shown that presence of pores flatt
ened in the loading direction significantly reduces the Young's modulu
s value already at low porosity. The Young's modulus as a function of
porosity is also calculated for the system with the pore flattening de
pendent on the value of total porosity. The theoretical curve is compa
red with the experimental one for ceramics Dy2O3.
