Na. Sereda et al., THE NITROGEN REGIME OF THE TYPICAL CALCAREOUS CHERNOZEM AND METHODS FOR ITS CONTROL, Eurasian soil science, 30(11), 1997, pp. 1193-1198
Quantitative regularities have been revealed in the effect of hydrothe
rmic conditions of the vegetation period on the content of available n
itrogen in soil. It was found that the nitrogen cycle in the typical c
alcareous chernozem of the Cis-Ural region mainly depends on the moist
ening conditions. The application of organic and mineral fertilizers,
including the localized placement of the latter, is an appropriate met
hod for controlling the nitrogen regime.
