Abstract
Diazoketones derived from alkoxymalonic acid undergo dirhodium tetraac etate-catalyzed decomposition yielding 4,5-dialkoxy-3(2H)-furanones, w hile those derived from monoesters of dimethylmalonic acid furnish 2.5 -oxidocyclohexanones.
