Abstract
We report a case of necrotizing pneumonia due to Penicillium chrysogen um in a 57-year-old woman operated on for lung cancer. The residual ri ght lower pulmonary lobe was infiltrated by Penicillium chrysogenum. T he patient underwent a second pulmonary right lobectomy and was succes sfully treated with oral itraconazole. To our knowledge, this is the f irst case of pneumonia due to P. chrysogenum.
