The production rate of scalar-Particle pairs from finite temperature (
T) plasma of massless-scalar particles confined in a cubic box of volu
me V is calculated. The Dirichlet boundary conditions are imposed on t
he wall of the box. The finite volume effect is found to be quite larg
e at T = (2 - 3) X 10(2) MeV and V = [(1 - 5) X 10(-13) cm]3, the nume
rical values which have been estimated for the quark-gluon plasma prod
uced in heavy-ion collisions at CERN SPS and LHC energies.
