Abstract
A general class of diffusion-reaction problems, which includes the dif fusion of a substrate across a membrane which is facilitated by the pr esence of a carrier, is considered. A priori bounds for solutions are established and, by applying shooting techniques to solutions of appro priate initial value problems, existence results are obtained.
