The syntheses and structures of N,N'-bis (2-hydroxybenzyl)piperazine (
C18H22N2O2, 2), its nitrate salt (C18H24N4O8, 2a) and copper(II) aceta
te complex (C22H26N2O6Cu2, 2b) are described. Compound 2 was character
ized by H-1 and C-13 NMR and mass spectrometry. The structures of all
compounds were determined by X-ray structure analysis. Crystal data: 2
