P. Leputsch et al., FINAL VIBRATIONAL-STATE RESOLVED SINGLE-ELECTRON CAPTURE FOR IMPACT OF LESS-THAN-OR-EQUAL-TO-1 KEV C2-2, N-2, O-2 AND CO( ON H), Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics, 30(21), 1997, pp. 5009-5024
By means of ion translational energy spectroscopy, single-electron cap
ture (SEC) by ground state and metastable C2+ on H-2, N-2, O-2 and CO
has been studied at impact energies less than or equal to 1 keV. For S
EC from N-2 the main channels involve transitions C2+(2s2p(3)P(o)) + N
-2(upsilon(i) = 0) --> C+(2s2p(2 2)D) + N-2(+) (A(2) Pi(u); upsilon(f)
) with the final vibrational state distributions (upsilon(f) = 0-5) be
ing found in reasonably good agreement with multichannel Landau-Zener
calculations.
