The nonlinear response of a system subject to a periodic force in the
presence of noise is investigated. It is shown that a physical system
of a general type manifests stochastic resonance at higher harmonics.
The stochastic resonance curves are calculated for several monostable
systems. Higher harmonic stochastic resonance is measured on a monosta
ble parr of a domain wall pinned by a magnetic defect in a ferrite-gar
net film.
