We observe two classes of nonequilibrium noise-induced transitions in
two-dimensional nearest-neighbor coupled pendulums. One is characteriz
ed by the drastic change of the shape of the stationary probability de
nsity and the other by the symmetry-breaking order parameter. The corr
esponding mechanisms are proposed. The nature of each transition is di
scussed. The cooperative effect of the two phenomena is presented. The
mean-field results are consistent with the ones from the numerical ca
lculations.
