We study the solutions of the equations of motion in the model of gaug
ed (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The contribution
of Chem-Simons gauge fields leads to a significant decrease of the cri
tical power of self-focusing. We also show that, for appropriate bound
ary conditions in the model considered, there exists a regime of turbu
lent motion of a hydrodynamic type.
