Abstract
In this Reply it is claimed that, although in the Comment by Tkachenko , Munoz-Cobo, and Munoz, a full random-phase (RP) analysis of the prob lem of the stopping power of an expanding charged ion cluster is prese nted, the main conclusions drawn by these, authors are substantially id entical to those of our paper [Phys. Rev. E 51, R2755 (1995)], where o nly collective effects were considered. Indeed, the strong enhancement of the stopping power of the ion cluster with respect to that evaluat ed for the same number of uncorrelated projectiles at high velocity, a nd the decreasing two-ion correlation effect for increasing velocity s pread and interaction time, are already predicted in our paper. The fu ll RP approximation makes the behavior of the stopping power at slight ly suprathermal, velocities more regular.
