T. Pengsuparp et al., PENTACYCLIC TRITERPENES DERIVED FROM MAPROUNEA-AFRICANA ARE POTENT INHIBITORS OF HIV-1 REVERSE-TRANSCRIPTASE, Journal of natural products, 57(3), 1994, pp. 415-418
Two pentacyclic triterpenes isolated from Maprounea africana, 1 beta-h
ydroxymaptounic acid 3-p-hydroxybenzoate [3], 2 alpha-hydroxymaprounic
acid 2,3-bis-p-hydroxybenzoate [4] and their respective hydrolyzed pr
oducts [5] and [6], have been found to demonstrate potent inhibitory a
ctivity against HIV-1 reverse transcriptase.
