Abstract
Three new chlorine-containing beta-carbolines, bauerines A-C (1-3), ha ve been isolated from the terrestrial blue-green alga Dichothrix bauer iana GO-25-2, and identified by mass and nmr spectral analysis. The al kaloids show activity against herpes simplex virus type 2.
