Abstract
In the first part of this paper we present a limit model for non-symme tric elastic plates using an asymptotic method from three-dimensional elasticity and we prove existence and uniqueness of solution of this m odel. In the second part we try the shape optimization of the place, o btaining the existence of an optimal profile and proposing its numeric al solution by means of penalty methods.
