Dw. Scott et Wh. Miller, IDIOSYNCRATIC CUTANEOUS ADVERSE DRUG-REACTIONS IN THE HORSE - LITERATURE-REVIEW AND REPORT OF 19 CASES (1990-1996), Equine practice, 19(10), 1997, pp. 12
Idiosyncratic cutaneous adverse drug reactions are rarely reported in
the horse. The most common offending drugs appear to be trimethoprim-p
otentiated sulfonamides, penicillin, phenylbutazone and ivermectin. Du
e to the ability of drug reactions to mimic so many other dermatoses,
the diagnosis can be difficult. A detailed history, exclusion of other
possible causes of dermatosis, and dechallenge are critical.
