Abstract
The phase diagram of the ternary Ti-B-C system has been constructed fr om 300 to 3500 K, especially for the sections TiCy-TiB2 and B4Cy-TiB2. The calculation of the energy parameters describing the phase equilib ria with the participation of TiB2 has been carried out in the subregu lar solutions approximation. The presence of wide homogeneity regions of carbides, TiC0.47-TiC1.0 and B4C0.45-B4C1.0, has been taken into ac count. Ordering in nonstoichiometric titanium carbide TiCy at a temper ature below 950 K has been calculated by the order parameters function al method. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
