Abstract
The photochemical induced reaction of metallo 2-diazo-3-oxo-5,10,15,20 -tetraphenylchlorins <(1a)under bar> and <(1b)under bar> with alcohols is described. Photochemical dediazoniation in presence of simple alco hols leads to the formation of 2-alkyloxy-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphy rins <(2a)under bar> - <(2f)under bar> 2-hydroxy-5,10,15,20-tetrapheny lporphyrins <(3a)under bar> - <(3b)under bar>. 2-alkyloxy-3-oxo-5,10,1 5,20-tetraphenylchlorins <(4a)under bar> - <(4f)under bar> and ,2-dial kyloxy-3-oxo-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylchlorins <(5a)under bar> - <(5f)und er bar>. The product distribution strongly depends upon the central me tal ion of the irradiated diazoketones <(1a)under bar> and <(1b)under bar>.
