Abstract
We consider the photorefractive response in a sillenite crystal with s hallow traps when a square-wave applied field is used. The numerical r esults give the dependences of two-beam gain coefficient on the gratin g fringe spacing, mean light intensity, applied field amplitude, and a pplied field frequency. The cadmium-doped Bi12SiO20:Cd crystal was gro wn and fabricated. We study the two-beam gain coefficient in this crys tal. The experimental results agree qualitative with the presented the ory.
