Abstract
Nanocrystalline Cu0.50Ti0.50 was prepared by controlled recrystallisat ion of amorphous CuTi. Since the crystalline particles have a density slightly higher than the amorphous matrix, a difference in electron de nsity and, as consequence, in scattering length density results. This enabled us to study the crystallisation process of metallic glasses by means of small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) in real-time, using the high intensities available at the synchrotron radiation source ESRF.
