Abstract
Many pulp mills are looking to improve their wastewater treatment Syst ems because of mort restrictive environmental regulations coupled with increased pulp production. Oxygen based systems enable pulp mills to meet these growing needs. The use of an efficient oxygen mixing system , such as Praxair's I-SO coupled with oxygen from a Praxair Vacuum Pre ssure Saving Adsorption (VPSA) plant can enable mills to reduce capita l costs by one-half and power costs by one-third over air-based activa ted sludge systems.
