Abstract
Probability dictates that environmental contamination near industrial facilities will continue to occur due to natural and man-made emergenc ies such as tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, explosions, fire, chemical spills or leaks, and power failures. Effective risk analysis and emer gency response planning (ERP) have saved corporations millions of doll ars in lost production or property. Past experience has shown that eme rgencies are best addressed by preventative measures and a continually improving system For updating emergency response procedures, training staff, maintaining emergency response equipment, and of course, pract ising before the big one hits!
