Abstract
To remove the 'bristling feeling' from their relations, both the Unite d States and India will have to show greater sensitivity and forbearan ce. The United States will have to learn that it cannot cling forever to its self-appointed role as the 'only superpower'...and India will h ave to recognize that political and economic accommodation with the Un ited States is a necessary precondition for its own achievement of sup erpower status.
