Abstract
The polycrystalline samples of TIKWO4 have been synthesized by solid-s tate reaction technique. Preliminary X-ray powder diffraction studies of the compound suggest the formation of single phase material in the orthorhombic crystal system. Measurements of dielectric constant (epsi lon) and dielectric loss (tan delta) as a function of temperature have shown dielectric anomaly and spontaneous polarization disappears at 4 4 +/- 1 degrees C which clearly suggest the ferroelectric phase transi tion in this compound.
