Abstract
Nitric oxide synthase has been located in the brain, in several neuron al populations which appear in close contact either with the microvasc ulature or the external surface of extracerebral vessels. These data p rovide structural support to the pharmacological evidences of the nitr ic oxide participation in the regulation of vascular tone of brain blo od vessels.
