The study was carried out to evaluate the applicability of magnetic re
sonance imaging (MRI) in detecting tumors in the abdomen of the dog. A
bdominal ultrasound and MRI were performed on 8 dogs having a mass les
ion on abdominal radiography. MR images were obtained in the transvers
e, sagittal and dorsal planes using T1- and T2-weighted spill echo pul
se sequences, There was good visual correlation of the lesion site by
MRI and ultrasonography (US).
