Jf. Shaeffer et al., A REVIEW OF BISTATIC K-SPACE IMAGING FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC PREDICTION CODES FOR SCATTERING AND ANTENNAS, IEEE antennas & propagation magazine, 39(5), 1997, pp. 21-29
A bistatic k-space imaging concept for frequency-domain (FD) electroma
gnetic (EM) computer codes is presented. The concept enables the compu
tation of images without the frequency sweep required for experimental
images, resulting in a significant reduction in computational effort.
This analytical imaging technique uses bistatic radiation computed fr
om a generalized radiation integral. Images permit physical insight an
d understanding into how a radiation or scattering pattern is produced
, by decomposition of the resultant radiation into contributions from
localized scattering centers, or hot spots. Knowledge of these hot spo
ts permits a user to understand and modify the structure to obtain des
ired features.
