The spectrum of antimony was photographed in the 120 angstrom-270 angs
trom on a 3-m grazing incidence spectrograph at the Moscow laboratory
and 10.7 m grazing incidence spectrograph at the NIST laboratory in Wa
shington. A triggered spark source was used in both laboratories to ex
cite the Sb IX spectrum. Seventeen of 19 levels of the 4d7 configurati
on and 132 of 180 levels in the 4d(6)5p configuration of the Sb IX hav
e been established. Two hundred and seventy three lines have been clas
sified as the 4d7-4d(6)5p transitions in the 167 angstrom-202 angstrom
region. Least-squares-fitting calculations were carried out which int
erpret the spectrum quite adequately.
