A new laser crystal Lu3Sc2Ga3O12:Nd3+ with ordered garnet structure is
developed. Its stimulated emission at 1.0622 mum wavelength (F-4(3/2)
--> I-4(1 1/2) generating channel) with laser-diode and Xe-flashlamp
pumping at room temperature is excited. For prospecting spectroscopic
and laser investigations with Nd3+-ion doped crystals the detailed cal
culations of the full set of squared reduced-matrix elements for all 4
f3 intermanifold J --> J' transitions with maximal energy till about 6
7000 cm-1 are performed.
