Abstract
Macrocyclic poly(diazene oxide furazans) have been synthesised for the first time: the tetraoxide was prepared by the oxidation of diazene f ragments in the tetradiazenofurazan macrocycle, and the dioxides were synthesised by the intramolecular and intermolecular oxidative cyclisa tion of structures already containing diazene oxide fragments. The str ucture of the tetraoxide derivative has been established by X-ray diff raction analysis.
