Abstract
High energy gamma-ray cross section obtained from He-3 + Mg-25 reactio n at E(lab) = 29.9 MeV exhibits an enhancement as compared to statisti cal model predictions including giant resonance strength functions. Wi thin the preequilibrium exciton model approach which takes into accoun t level density parameters and pairing for individual nuclei and uses the giant dipole resonance parameters found at lower excitation energy a satisfactory description of the gamma-ray energy spectrum is obtain ed.
