Jp. Favier et al., OPTOTHERMAL DETECTION OF INFRARED RADIATION-INDUCED ABSORPTION IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS OF CARBOHYDRATES - LACTASE AND CORN STARCH, Journal of agricultural and food chemistry, 45(3), 1997, pp. 777-780
The optothermal window method, a variant of photoacoustic spectroscopy
, was used at 10 mu m wavelength to explore its feasibility for direct
investigation of aqueous solutions of lactose and corn tarch. Present
limits of detection attainable by this method are 0.19% (w/w) for lac
tose solution and 0.6% (w/w) for corn starch gel, respectively.
