Abstract
Lyapunov-like stability theorems for discrete-time fuzzy control syste ms are given in this paper. Based on the locality of fuzzy control a s et of local Lyapunov functions are used for stability analysis. The st ability theorems show that if the fuzzy system can be locally stabiliz ed on every local region, under some boundary conditions the fuzzy sys tem can also be globally stabilized. In this stability approach we app ly motions of the system instead of a difference equation of the syste m. Thus, the method can be used for both model-fi ee and model-based f uzzy controller designs. Finally, an example is given to illustrate th e application of the method.
