C. Leribault et R. Friedrich, INVESTIGATION OF TRANSPORT-EQUATIONS FOR TURBULENT HEAT FLUXES IN COMPRESSIBLE FLOWS, International journal of heat and mass transfer, 40(11), 1997, pp. 2721-2738
Turbulent heat fluxes are usually modeled by algebraic relations conta
ining the turbulent Prandtl number. The underlying hypothesis of an an
alogy between turbulent momentum and heat transport is, however, not v
alid in complex flow situations. Transport equations are then needed t
o predict the heat fluxes. Two such equations are implemented in a cod
e for statistically two-dimensional flows with a Reynolds stress model
. The behaviour of this SOC model is tested in cases of compressible b
oundary layers along adiabatic walls at different Mach numbers and for
hypersonic boundary layers along cooled walls. Finally, shock/turbule
nt boundary layer interactions are computed and discussed. (C) 1997 El
