Abstract
A Streptomyces galilaeus mutant carrying genes transfered from S. purp urascens is reported to produce two hybrid anthracyclines. This study demonstrates the possibility of producing hybrid anthracyclines in a c ombinatorial way by genetic engineering of anthracycline producing str ains. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
