E. Stocker, GEOMORPHOLOGICAL MAPPING IN ALPINE ENVIRO NMENTS - THE EXAMPLE OF A REGION NEAR SALZBURG (AUSTRIA), Mitteilungen der osterreichischen Geographischen Gesellschaft, 135, 1993, pp. 161-174
An area in the Salzach Valley (near Hallein, Land Salzburg) was mapped
geomorphologically. The large scale of the map (I : 12.500) required
an inventory of individual landforms, as the area studied is character
ized by a variety of structural, fluvial, glacial and karst landforms.
Processes of mass movements play an important role, especially in the
loamy pleistocene deposits. Furthermore, general concepts as to the r
epresentation of geomorphological details in geomorphological maps are
being discussed.
