Abstract
We describe an experimental model consisting of an anharmonic chain of magnetic pendulums acting under gravity. This is a simple paradigm fo r the study of moving breathers in a discrete system. These highly mob ile and strongly localized dynamically stable oscillating states are o bserved experimentally and studied both analytically and numerically.
