Polarization analysis of the nonresonant magnetic x-ray scattering fro
m the simple type-IA double-k antiferromagnet uranium arsenide has pro
vided an experimental verification of the nonresonant magnetic x-ray c
ross section and has shown the dominance of the orbital contribution t
o the magnetization density. The measured value for the ratio of the o
rbital to the spin contributions is in reasonable agreement with the f
ree-ion value for a 5f(3) configuration.
