Bacterial meningitis is an unusual complication of bone marrow transpl
antation. We report a case of Stomatococcus mucilaginosus meningitis i
n a patient with multiple myeloma shortly after an autologous peripher
al blood stem cell transplant. The infection resolved with a combinati
on of intravenous penicillin G and chloramphenicol, and intrathecal va
ncomycin.
