Abstract
The new multinuclear coordination compound [Ag-3(LH)(2)]NO3 (where L i s Ph(2)P(S)CH2P(S)Ph(2)) was synthesized by deprotonation of the compl ex AgLNO(3) with Et(3)N. On the basis of H-1 and P-31 NMR spectroscopi c data combined with a mass spectrometric examination in FD and FAB va riants the complexcation [Ag(L-H)(2)](+) was presumed to consist of a metallomacrocyclic unit [Ag-2(LH)(2)] with an unsymmetrically coordina ted third silver(I) ion. The ligand within the complex was found to un dergo hydrolysis and redox reactions in the gas phase under FD and FAB conditions.
