Abstract
CABLE-TELEVISION (CATV) data receivers for high-speed data and telepho ny services can benefit from a new silicon frequency upconverter RF in tegrated circuit (RF IC), The RF IC translates signals in the 50-to-75 0-MHz band to a fixed intermediate-frequency (IF) signal in the range of 850 to 1300 MHz, Unlike previous GaAs designs, this silicon upconve rter operates from a single +4.5- to +7.0-VDC unregulated power supply and can be enabled and disabled through the use of just a single cont rol pin, The circuit features single-ended RF input and IF output port s while requiring no external-matching circuitry.
