The Gresham, a single screw, steel revenue cutter of about 900 tons di
splacement, was built by The Globe Iron Works Co. of Cleveland, Ohio,
from designs furnished by the Treasury Department. The limit of the ap
propriation was $175,000, and the contract was let at $147,800; as a m
atter of fact, the actual cost of the vessel was far in excess of that
sum. She is intended for service on the Great Lakes, and her headquar
ters will be at Milwaukee, Wis.
