Activation techniques have been used to measure the total cross sectio
n for the production of Be-7, Na-22, and Na-24 in proton induced react
ions on Li-7 and Al-27 targets at bombarding energies of 495 MeV and 7
95 MeV. The cross section for the Li-7(p,n)Be-7(g.s.+0.43-MeV) reactio
n at 795 MeV is about 11-15 % larger than extrapolations based on prev
ious data below 480 MeV.
