Time-resolved synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction was used to study s
ynthesis of magnesium substituted aluminophosphates. Four organic temp
late molecules were applied, which resulted in different reaction prod
ucts. Triethylamine: MAPO-5 and MAPO-47. Di-n-propylamine: MAPO-39 and
MAPO-46. Tripropylamine: MAPO-36. Tetramethylammonium hydroxide: MAPO
-20. Some synthesis passed through the formation of precursor phases.
A precursor observed in the lower temperature range of the synthesis w
as Mg(H2O)(4)[Al(PO3OH)OH](H2O)(2).
