Abstract
Direct observation of weak links in melt-textured YBCO samples is repo rted. It is found that weak links appear on the boundaries of textured domains, formed by crystalline plates with a common c-axis direction, at large enough misorientation angles between these directions in nei ghbouring domains. Such boundaries are shown to be the main defects li miting the current carrying capability of melted ceramics.
